Innovative Juniper at the Preserve Apartments in Carlsbad utilizes solar power to meet their growing energy needs.
Juniper at the Preserve Apartments Solar Photovoltaic (PV) carport system utilizes seven different carport structures to house it’s 155 kW system. As a full turnkey project, this system utilized the entire service offering from M Bar C. Begining with structural to renewables to electrical, M Bar C team members were all that we needed to create this powerful solar solution. The system offsets over 90% of the electricity demands for the new complex, including lights, electronic vehicle (EV) charging stations, laundry machines, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC). These solar carports not only generate electricity but also provide shaded parking for the tenants, along with under-canopy lighting for extra security. Built on top of an abandoned rock quarry this site allowed M Bar C to prove that not even rock can stop our structures.
This project took advantage of the California Energy Commission’s New Solar Homes Partnership (NSHP) program. The NSHP provides financial incentives, encouraging the construction of new, energy efficient solar homes that save homeowners money on their electric bills and protect the environment.
