Modesto City Schools faced rising energy costs and a growing need to prepare for the adoption of electric school buses while managing an active transportation yard and daily bus operations. The district needed a solution that would not only reduce utility expenses but also enhance vehicle protection and align with California’s sustainability goals without disrupting daily workflows.
M Bar C Construction delivered a carport installation designed to meet these challenges head-on. The custom-built steel structures provided shaded parking for the district’s bus fleet, reduced peak-hour electricity consumption, and positioned the district for future integration of electric vehicle chargers. This installation represents over 1.5 MW of renewable energy, providing a cleaner, more efficient transportation hub supporting operational needs and environmental leadership.
