This innovative DSA solar carport installation serves as a powerful example for the Vista Unified School District community and their ongoing commitment to renewable energy and sustainability.

In late 2019, M Bar C Construction was a proud partner in the installation and completion of DSA solar carports throughout 21 of the Vista Unified School District (VUSD) Campuses. These solar carports can be seen through the city of Vista, and although impressive in purpose and design, the project wasn’t without challenges. For most carport installers, these site challenges would bring an installation project to a complete stop, but thanks to M Bar C Constructions industry-recognized DSA solar carport precheck approved plans, our teams quickly provided an efficient and ready solution.

M Bar C Construction DSA Precheck Approval

California schools and various state-owned and leased facilities are subject to installed structures meeting required DSA (Division of the State Architect) precheck approval standards.

“The Division of the State Architect (DSA) provides design and construction oversight for K–12 schools, community colleges, and various other state-owned and state-leased facilities to ensure that they comply with all structural, accessibility, and fire and life safety codes.”

With a vast precheck approved plan portfolio, M Bar C provides some of the largest DSA solar carport installations in the state. With M Bar C Constructions expansive DSA precheck approved plan portfolio, our clients benefit from having access to the most efficient, safe, and adaptable DSA approved project solutions. Our industry-recognized DSA solar carport precheck approvals allow us to navigate through site challenges and project specifications while still maintaining the integrity and standards surrounding DSA approved projects.

Jordan Saddington, Director of Estimating at M Bar C Construction explained how M Bar C Constructions DSA precheck approval portfolio took what was a VUSD site challenge to a site solution:

“We had to shift our original footings to spread footings at Mission Vista High School due to a giant granite shelf that we discovered underneath the site that we were unable to drill through. Thankfully, we can react very quickly to challenges such as this, due to the efficiency of our preapproved DSA solar carport precheck documentation as spread footing is already approved within our documentation. This is one of the major benefits of working with M Bar C Construction, because of our preapproved DSA documentation, when challenges like this present themselves, as they undoubtedly will, we are ready to adapt based on an already approved plan set.”
